There seems to be lot of confusion with regard to introduction of new train to Vasco via Shravanabelagola.According to me, the existing train to Kannur will continue to run as usual via., Shravanabelagola for 4 days and via Mysore for 3 days. If my assumption is true, will it be OK to have two back to back trains within a gap of 1.15 Minutes on 4 days and around 2.30 Hours on 3 days. Instead, the Kannur train may be made to leave SBC around 9.30 or 10 PM.

But as per TT of this Train and also 16517 (Via: Mysore), both these trains will touch MAQ. The Train via Shravabelagola will halt at MAQ for 1 hour whereas the Via Mysore train (16517) will stay for just 20 minutes. It is a welcome move as Mangalore Junction is not well connected by City Buses whereas Mangaluru Central is in a walkable distance to Hampanakatta, the heart of Mangaluru. Hope, they will not divert this train from Junction to avoid LR.

We welcome the news of introduction of a direct overnight train to Vasco-da-gama from YPR Via Shravanabelagola but not at the cost of existing very popular train. Instead of running two overnight trains to Karwar, they could have curtailed the service of the second train (existing SBC-KWR via Mysore and Shravanabelagola to MAQ with delayed departure from SBC i.e., around 9.30 PM or 10 PM instead of completely cancelling an existing popular train to accommodate another train whose timings is not at all convenient.

Is this facility still available? I visited YPR Railway Station sometime back (in Nov. 2019) and found almost all such shops were closed. Instead of going for a new bottle these refills are better as they reduce the use of plastic bottles.

With the increase in frequency, Bengaluru will be connected from Shivamogga by 2nd night train for 5 days in a week (3 days SMET YPR and 2 days SMET Banaswadi/KR Puram by 06221). Good move by railways.

To avoid 3 back to back trains on Saturday, the 2nd night train to Shivamogga i.e., YPR SMET triweekly should be made to run on Friday instead of saturday as techies will have weekends on Saturday and Sunday, the demand for tickets will be more on Friday night.
