Why not convert this train to express with slight speed up..Also sleeper & ac coaches should be added to make it 14 coacher...Also it can start from Deoghar
Train conversion to express - the travel time will be the same and double the fare will find no takers
SL and 3AC coaches - may have decent patronage in up direction, will run 90% vacant in down direction
Extension to Deoghar - does not make sense to extend a train for 10 km journey. There are plenty of travel options. Extending this train to Dumka (with TT revision and express timings) will make sense.

Yes, a bad decision but had to be made. MEMU rake will have a better acceleration. I wonder if this train is still needed. How many ppl will be affected if this train is stopped? I will not deny the fact that this train connects all railway stations on its route but, I feel, this train does not fit in today's world. Travelling by normal express takes 6-8 hours less via chord route. IR should start printing train numbers on unreserved tickets. This way, they can calculate ridership and losses made on these trains.
