It does cover robbery. The policy covers each passenger under the PNR in case of Death, Permanent Total Disability, Permanent Partial Disability, and Hospitalization Expenses for Injury and Transportation of mortal remains following Rail Accident or untoward incident. Untoward incident include the making of a violent attack or the commission of robbery or dacoity as per the policy document.
I wasn't aware that IR is going to stop selling wait listed tickets from 1st July.
Is it another whimsical decision and what could be the benefits to IR? It seems to cut off a cancellation revenue stream for them.

It's a part of RM Mr. Prabhu's 2020 vision to match the demand & supply of ticketing in Indian Railways. We will have to wait & watch how this plan is implemented.

It would be best to buy it directly from the Airline's website. However, first see which fight suits your timing & all from MakeMyTrip or Yatra.com. Then go to that Airline's website and check the ticket pricing against MakeMyTrip or Yatra.com etc. Always compare and then buy from the best source.
