i have a big big doubt.........i want to book ticket from hyderabad to nagpur..........if some has booked from nagpur to new delhi,whether that seat is shown as available from hyb to ngp?

White you check the availability you might not see it as availale, but in case you take a ticket and is in RAC / WL it will ge confirmed against such seats

You have to book the ticket first and later change the boarding station

Is a general RAC given more preference to be confirmed or a tatkal waitlisted ?

No preference is given to anything, RAC \ General Wl ges confirmed against cancellation in General Quota while Tatkal WL gets confirmed against Tatkal Quota
I want to book a ticket from Bhopal to Basai(near Jhansi) on 24th July 2011 i.e. day after tomorrow.
Current waiting list is #34.
is it safe to book tickets? or should I go for Tatqal.

Since quite good number of seats are still available in tatkal; the general WL of 34 will get clear (its risky but General WL-34 will get clear, 75% Possibility)
