This train can be speeded up with slightly revised timings as follows:
TVC 0430, ERS 0830, CBE 1215, SA 1500, KJM 1900, YPR (NEW HALT) 1930 WITH DEP AT 2000, SUR 0800 NEXT DAY, PUNE 1200, CST 1600.
To this train, run a link train from Madurai to Salem (MDU dep 1030, Salem 1430 for merger) with 3 or 4 SL, 1 3A and 2 General and merge them at Salem.

return direction, suggested timings are as follows:-
CSTM 1100, PUNE 1500, SUR 1900, YPR 0700 next day, SA 1130, CBE 1430, ERS 1815, TVC 2230. Link portion from Salem dep 1130, MDU via Namakkal Arr 1530,
Main advantages are:-
1. Madurai gets one weekly additional train to Mumbai,
2. Namakkal gets a train to Mumbai.
2. Entire Kerala stretch and people upto SA gets one train upto Bangalore (Yeswantpur),
3. Bangalore gets one fast train to Mumbai.
Coach composition : NCJ to CSTM and back: 17 coaches + CBE to Madurai link and back : 7 coaches -- Totalling to 24 coaches.
Request our experts' opinions. Thanks.

YPR CST 20 hours is not possible as majority of this route is a single unelectrified route.

good thought... that route already have a link to mumbai thru 6339/40 thrice a week... it would more useful 6339/40 operate as link between TVC and SA and the other portion take the current route...

Nice. Anyway, we have 4 day slot to NCJ and 1 day to TVC. Combine all rakes & rearrange in such a way that on all 5 days, the train can run as NCJ/TVC to SA and combined at Salem to run upto CSTM. By using rakes of Balaji Exp (Via RU, CGL) also and make these arrangements as a daily one. For twice a week Balaji Express, time slot of LTT-KIK can be used between LTT-RU.
All these objectives can be met if this train is converted into a 24 coach train with speeding up. The timings suggested for entire stretch can be as follows:- CSTM 1100, PUNE 1500, SUR 1900, YPR 0700 next day, SA 1130, CBE 1430, ERS 1815,

TVC 2230 (For NCJ portion -- SA 1130, MDU via Namakkal 1530, NCJ 2000). Return direction NCJ 0630, MDU 1045, SA VIA Namakkal 1500, (For TVC portion TVC 0430, ERS 0830, CBE 1215, SA 1500) KJM 1900, YPR DEP 2000, SUR 0800 NEXT DAY, PUNE 1200, CST 1600.

When Rajkot-CBE takes 20 hrs between KYN-KJM, why not for other trains? Pune to YPR KSK takes 15 hours only. From Pune to LTT it is only 3-1/2 hours.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
