if you tavelling in this train from Udupi/UD to Mumbai CST/CSTM then dont book from UD to CSTM else you will get reservation in Pooled Quota/PQ. Book from Surathkal/SL, it is just 1 station before Udupi/UD. You will get benefit of GN quota.
What is the issue with pooled quota as long as you are getting confirmed berth in same class?
He means to say if you are getting waiting or RAC then Chances of getting confirmed is more in GNWL than PQWL
It has to be explicit, else this is like asking ppl to let go available berths from UD and book from SL.
dear manoj ji, there is either WL or CNF tickets in PQ. my suggestion was to switct to GN quota when PQ from UD is running waiting list. Most of the time, Udupi/UD shows PQWL#30, while GN from Surathkal/SL is RAC#20 at same time.
"when PQ from UD is running waiting list" was missing in original post. I can understand, but others may not. They may ask - why spend extra money when berths from my station are available. Thanks for clarifying that this is only when PQ is under WL.
