Train does a reversal, instead of taking a bypass route.
The "Passing Thru" station can now be selected from a drop-down box, instead of compulsorily from the pre-populated list. This will allow admins to specify a "Passing Thru" station even if the intermediate stations are not populated. When a few passing thru stations are provided (along with the approx. time of passing), the rest of the intermediate stations will get filled in, as a unique route will be able to be determined.
Case 1. This case occurs because the stations are too far apart and a unique route could not be determined. When you add one or two "Passes Thru" stations, the rest of the intermediate stations will get filled in.
Case 2. Take the example of BSB-ALD. Some trains follow the JNH route and others take the MUV route. The default route within the site is BSB-JNH-ALD. If the train follows the other route, then Admins may click select "MUV" or "ALY" and add it as a "Passes Thru" station. The train route will automatically correct itself, to pass through those stations.
Case 3. The map erroneously shows some trains are doing a loco reversal at the junction point, instead of following the bypass link. Admins may add the 2 points of the bypass link as "Passes Thru" stations, and the route will auto-correct to follow the bypass. (Both ends of the bypass need to be added as "Passes Thru")
Finally, please note that while adding "Passes Thru" stations the time of passing and the Day number needs to be approximately correct so that the new station is added in the right sequence within the timetable between the desired 2 stations.
For example, if you are adding Manduadih between BSB and ALD, make sure that the time of passing is just after crossing BSB with the correct Day number. Otherwise, the new station may be added before BSB or after ALD, messing the station sequences.
As always, you are free to boldly try the feature when needed, and verify later (by looking at the map) if things are OK. Mistakes can always be corrected. Please notify if you encounter any bugs or other problems.
Thanks.
