The train Hapa - Tirunelveli - was initially launched as weekly train and later it has been made bi-weekly.
@ As such any route - any train .. passengers are so many that Railways will get them anyway. Particularly any number of trains on Gujarat /Saurashtra to Mumbai is far far success and high revenue earner for Rlys.
@ What is more important is that how many are end to end passengers ? Most of the pasengers are intermediate stop passengers .. and very...
more... minimal percentage even less than 5% .....long distance passengers from either Hapa or from Tirunelveli. In a way, the train becomes inter-city trains for in-between stations. During summer /Diwali season, you find many passengers who are on a tour to Kanyakumari / Rameswaram .. exiting at Nagarcoil. Tirunelveli just got the terminating spot in view of Rlys difficulties and there is no reason to make the Tirunelveli as the due spot for such a long distance train. The same is with Hapa terminal point.
@ The proposal with WR was for a train between Rajkot -Trivandrum / Kanyakumari or increasing the frequency of Veraval Express/ 6333 - weekly Train to a daily train.
