Our Living Atlas contains an independently acquired and assembled detailed database of stations and train routes, with active feedback from our members. More info is added to the Living Atlas on a daily basis.
Between any 2 stopping stations:
1. The route taken by the train is determined.
2. All the stations along that route are fetched, along with their relative Kms.
3....
more... The halting time at the 2 end stations are fetched and the incremental avg. speed is determined.
4. All the above information is put together, and the approximate crossing time at the intermediate stations is determined.
This feature was first made available 3 months back. In these 3 months, it has been observed that except for Durontos & Sampark Krantis, these intermediate station crossing times are very accurate within 4 minutes of the actual crossing times. Intermediate station distances are almost 100% accurate.
For Durontos and Sampark Krantis, because of technical stops and the long nonstop durations, the intermediate station times are within 30 minutes of the shown time. (Technical stops info will soon be introduced for Durontos and SKs.)
Thanks for the query.
