For instance, if a passenger wants to travel from Mumbai to Amritsar with a break journey at Delhi, he can purchase ticket by the PUNJAB MAIL , break journey at Delhi and purchase a ticket for the onward journey on any train that goes from Delhi to Amritsar.
Please note there are certain restrictions in this rules :-
a)...
more... In the following trains you can't avail the telescopic benefit :-
1) Rajdhani's
2) Garib Rath Trains
3) Satabdi's
4) Jan Satabdi's
b) You will have to take a shortest route
ie your chosen route should not increase the shortest route plus 15 % of it
For instance if GOLDENTEMPLE MAIL IS 3597 KM from Mumbai Central to Amritsar than the route chosen by you should not increase 3597 * 115% = 4136 KM otherwise the Reservation clerk may deny you to give the Telescopic benefit over your ticket.
