I really cannot stand such kind of reporting standard from leading newspapers. Atleast they can ask Railway officials before posting such incorrect info. How is Electrification work going to speed up the trains in this sections? I mean IR has enough Diesel Locos that can run at 160 KMPH+ Easily. Even the current TALGO Rake trial is being conducted using diesel locos only.
In reality each section of IR is certified to a MPS. The Loco would not decide if the train speed will upped or not. Its more of a function of the Track condition and the rake used in each train plying on that route than the Loco composition.
